Located in Muelle, San Carlos and classified as a four-star hotel on 17 hectares of impeccable gardens and rainforest, Tilajari's expansive grounds host many species of wildlife, as well as offer a magnificent view of the San Carlos River, in which you can see crocodiles, enormous iguanas and lots of other wildlife.
The name of our restaurant comes from the Maleku indigenous language. Katira means beautiful woman in the Maleku tongue, and since 1989 it has been the name of our restaurant. Although the Maleku population has decreased over the centuries, today there are still three main groups remaining: Tonjibe, El Sol and Margarita. These groups currently live on reserves in the Los Guatuzos lowlands area, about one hour from our hotel.
